Big River Public Broadcasting is in the pre-planning stages of visiting our translator sites in your communities. In order to do this right, we need some pictures. I’d really like to know what the condition of all the equipment is, and we’ll bring replacements for what’s needed. If you could take some shots of the outside equipment especially… The antenna, tower and cables that are exposed to the weather. I’d also like to verify what’s inside the buildings that’s driving the station. What’s that transmitter look like? What does the internet or satellite delivery look like? Improvements can be made, but only if we know they’re needed. My number here is 907-656-1488 or 800-478-5498 if you have any questions. I can be reached anytime at wireless@kiyu.com. Any information or photos you can email will be valuable! (4/9)

This is an annual, international celebration when families, schools, and communities swap digital entertainment for the joys of life beyond the screen. Instead of watching T.V., surfing the web, or playing apps and video games, they read, think, create, get physically active, and spend more time with family and friends.

Screen-free week is about taking a break from digital entertainment and a fun way to reduce our dependence on television, video games, smart phones, tablets and computers. It is a chance for children and adults to power down and reconnect with the world around them. Many parents choose to join their children in forgoing screen-based entertainment all week long, engaging in other fun activities. Fishing and Hunting Information

Health Care Corner

NEW We want to celebrate all the individuals within our community who are living a life of wellness and with that we also want to celebrate our communities work towards health. There are people in our community who have made impacts on our lives who don’t even know the kind of inspiration and support they have been. We want to recognize those who have been noticed subtly for their journey to wellness. We don’t often know who appreciates and admires our journey to making healthier choices. The following examples are several ways an individual can be making healthy choices on their wellness journey.

1.      They can be on their journey to recovery

2.      They could be actively breaking generational trauma

3.      They could have created first generation drug and alcohol free homes

4.      They could be physically active and eating healthy

5.      and/or volunteering and planning community engagements and activities.

We celebrate all who are living healthy lives and encourage those who are working towards healthy living to keep a positive outlook and know you are supported.

If you would like to recognize an individual who you have admired for their healthy living stop by the Edgar Nollner Health Center’s front desk and submit a name in our little black box. (4/30)
